Can I start without a group or a league?+
Yes. My Golf lets you keep your own score with a free account. Add up to three partners if you want to share that personal round, or create a separate Buddies group whenever you want recurring group play.
Do my playing partners need accounts?+
You need an account to create and keep your personal rounds. Partners can use the scorecard links you share without accounts. Those links expire after seven days and can be revoked. Joining a permanent Buddies group uses the group invitation and account flow instead.
Is Buddies really free?+
Yes. A Buddies group can include up to 16 members, with up to eight active scorers in each free round. No credit card is required.
What if our group needs more room?+
Buddies Plus is free during the founding beta for up to 40 players. No card or subscription is required; any future paid plan will be your choice.
Are the screenshots real?+
Yes. The scorecard shown above is from Birdies & Alibis using fictional demo golfers.
Do we all have to play together?+
No. Best Rounds can include separate qualifying rounds. Comparisons respect course, tee and hole configuration; an 18-hole total is not ranked directly against a nine-hole total.
What if our group becomes a formal league?+
Birdies & Alibis also supports structured schedules, larger rosters, flights, games, finances and commissioner workflows through its League plans.
Is this a rangefinder app?+
No. Buddies focuses on your group, rounds, scores and shared history—not GPS, shot tracking or swing analysis.
